Queen of Peace Church

Our Mission: We are a people of faith who recognize the need to gather for prayer and the celebration of the sacraments; to support a strong religious education program and our parish school; to evangelize the weak in faith; to embrace the poor and needy; and to be patient and accept the differences which exist among us.

Queen of Peace Bi-Annual Blood Drive is Monday October 16, 2017
Our September Blood Drive was so amazing an additional technician was brought in to accommodate the 47 donors who registered to donate. We, as a community, donated 41 units of blood that day. Thank you so much Debbie Taylor and Judy Arlinghaus. The home made granola bars (still warm) and snicker doodles were a big hit with the donors. Blood donation is a community responsibility. While you’re reading this, a local patient needs blood. • Blood is needed every two seconds. • About one in seven people entering a hospital needs blood. • Blood is always needed for treatment of accident victims, cancer patients, hemophiliacs and surgery patients. • Blood cannot be manufactured. Only 37 percent of our country's population is eligible to give blood, and less than 10 percent of those who can donate actually do donate annually What if everyone eligible to donate became complacent and decided they didn't need to donate because someone else would? What if there wasn't enough donated blood available when you, a loved one - anyone - needed it? Our blood supply comes from caring donors like you. It takes about one hour of your time. When you give blood, it gives someone another smile, another hug, another chance. It is the gift of life. Register to donate at www.Donortime.com and enter Sponsor Code 269 or call 1-800-388-4483. If you don’t have access to a computer there will be a sign up sheet provided in the back of church. I can add those names to the online registration or you may call Laura Herold @ 894-2462 and I’ll set your appointment. Be a Hero. Give Blood.

Life Chain’s 30th Year October 1st
Stand with thousands of pro-life individuals throughout the USA and Canada in honor of millions of babies whose lives have been lost to abortion. Pray for people in crisis situations and for our nations. You’ll be a light in a darkened world as you help put an end to abortion through prayer. Bring your whole family! Signs proclaim “Abortion Kills Children,” “Adoption the Loving Option,” “Jesus Forgives & Heals,” “Lord, Forgive Us and Our Nation,” “Abortion Hurts Women,” “Life—the first Inalienable Right,” “Pray to End Abortion,” “Pregnant? Need Help? 1-800-712-HELP”. Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 90 minutes praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death. Meet in silent prayer at the intersection of High St. and Martin Luther King Blvd. west of the Hamilton underpass. It will take place from 2-3:30 p.m. Signs will be available on the southwest corner of the intersection. You may bring chairs if standing is too difficult.
