Teams

2nd Grade

Teams may be formed if enough interest. However, the GCCYS does not offer a 2nd grade league. Games are scheduled with other 2nd grade parishes in the area (think Hamilton CYO). This is considered an introductory level, and equal playing time is expected.

3rd, 4th, 5th Grades

Teams play in the GCCYS league and adhere to all league rules. All teams at this level are recreational, and players are expected to have roughly equal playing time. For grades having more than one team, each team must be divided equally.

6th, 7th, 8th Grades

Teams play in the GCCYS league and adhere to all league rules. Teams may be formed in an A, B, C format, where equal playing time is not required. Teams may also be formed to compete at a recreational level where roughly equal playing time for each player is expected. Evaluations will be held prior to the season in order to divide players in grades with multiple teams.

Coaches

We could not have teams without volunteer coaches. Each team needs one head coach and at least one assistant coach. Scorebook keepers are required for GCCYS teams. Both parents and non-parents are encouraged to volunteer their time to coach a team. PLEASE indicate your interest in coaching on the registration form.
